Health resort Pomorie is located in 20 km from Bourgas and in 10 km from Nessebur and Sunny Beach. The town arose into ІV century B.C. and was established by Greek colonists, who gave it the name Anhialo, which means ‘around salt’.
Nowadays Pomorie is well-known balneological center with therapeutic Pomorien mud. It is specialized in the cure of locomotory system diseases, nervous system diseases, gynecological diseases, and sterility and skin diseases. Thracians and Romans called the lake in Pomorie ‘the holy lake’. The town is famous with its white wines and brandy. Here is the Pomorien wine-cellar - one of the largest and most modern in Bulgaria.
