The organized hunting tourism in Bulgaria started in 1960. Nowadays hunting grounds cover a solid area of the country and the game counts approximately 16 000 noble deer, 43 000 does, 71 500 roes, 45 000 wild pigs, 2 200 moufflons, 1 800 wild goats, 2 700 wood grouse, 115 800 pheasants, 313 000 partridges and 36 000 quail.

For example, world records obtained in the country include: noble deer of 273.60 CIC points, wild boar with 158.20 points, wild cat (skin) with 82.99 points and second place in the world in the trophy of moufflon 222.45.
